~*PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING!*~ First – this is a listing for a digital PDF file for a crochet pattern, NOT the item itself. The pattern for this lovely Tunisian crochet fantasy coat is still available for FREE on my blog – the paid pattern version is available for those who want the portability and printability of a PDF – or if you just love me and want to give me yarn money 😉 This elegant fantasy-inspired sweater coat features an A-line silhouette with a curling, pointed geometric hem shape inspired by flower blossoms, delicate pointed bell sleeves, and of course a long and ample pointed elf hood. The variegated yarn creates dazzling prisms of color across the separately worked pieces of the coat. Featuring Tunisian crochet in a stitch that mimics knitting, the texture and weave of this coat is both sleek and warm. The tunisian technique creates a tightly constructed fabric that drapes nicely while also holding a tailored shape that fits and flatters. This pattern is available for FREE on my blog in THREE adult sizes: Small, Medium, and Large, as well as being available as a purchasable, ad-free PDF that includes detailed instructions for all three sizes. For more information, see: https://moralefiber.blog/2019/02/02/elf-coat-pattern/ Lots of inspiration for this came from recycled sweater artist Katwise, and you should definitely check out her website at www.katwise.com ! CROCHET PATTERN: Tunisian Pinwheel Square 8.5-inch Afghan Block Hot Pad Dish Cloth
IMPORTANT NOTE: Scroll to the bottom of this description to read about a free companion pattern. This project employs the Tunisian Simple Stitch. However, a Tunisian crochet hook is not required, as the square is small enough that a regular crochet hook can be used. It is perfect for joining to other identical squares to make a larger project, such as a blanket, shawl, or bag. A decorative edging can be added, which would yield a lovely dishcloth or hot pad. This is a good project for yarn scraps, as each of the triangles in each round can be made in a different color. After making this pattern, you will be able to make an invisible seam in a Tunisian Simple Stitch project using the mattress stitch. You will also be very familiar with making increasing and decreasing triangles in Tunisian crochet. There are ample photos and charts to enable an adventurous beginner to complete this project. Within the text of the pattern, there are also links to video tutorials, showing the entire process, including how to carry yarn colors along the back of the square. [As of 10/10/2018, I have published a companion pattern to this listing. The companion pattern, the Tunisian Pinwheel Half Square, can be found in my Etsy shop, here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/650114975/crochet-pattern-tunisian-pinwheel-half. For customers with PayPal accounts: If you purchase both patterns at the same time, I will issue a refund of $2.99, via PayPal, for the half square pattern. Please send me a convo with the same email as your PayPal account. After I verify your purchases, I will happily issue a refund.]
Tunisian Crochet: Revolutions in Color and Style
Worked with a tool that’s a cross between a crochet hook and a knitting needle, Tunisian crochet creates interesting textures and lends itself to bold color combinations. In this class, you’ll learn the basic Tunisian stitches before making a versatile garment that’s worn eight different ways. Whether you are a knitter, a crocheter or both, you will love the projects in this class and where these techniques can take you.
