IMPORTANT NOTE: Scroll to the bottom of this description to read about a free companion pattern. This project employs the Tunisian Simple Stitch. However, a Tunisian crochet hook is not required, as the square is small enough that a regular crochet hook can be used. It is perfect for joining to other identical squares to make a larger project, such as a blanket, shawl, or bag. A decorative edging can be added, which would yield a lovely dishcloth or hot pad. This is a good project for yarn scraps, as each of the triangles in each round can be made i
n a different color. After making this pattern, you will be able to make an invisible seam in a Tunisian Simple Stitch project using the mattress stitch. You will also be very familiar with making increasing and decreasing triangles in Tunisian crochet. There are ample photos and charts to enable an adventurous beginner to complete this project. Within the text of the pattern, there are also links to video tutorials, showing the entire process, including how to carry yarn colors along the back of the square. [As of 10/10/2018, I have published a companion pattern to this listing. The companion pattern, the Tunisian Pinwheel Half Square, can be found in my Etsy shop, here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/650114975/crochet-pattern-tunisian-pinwheel-half. For customers with PayPal accounts: If you purchase both patterns at the same time, I will issue a refund of $2.99, via PayPal, for the half square pattern. Please send me a convo with the same email as your PayPal account. After I verify your purchases, I will happily issue a refund.]

Tunisian Crochet
Instantly downloadable pdf file. This Sampler Square Cushion Cover is made by working Tunisian crochet in the round using a double ended crochet hook. The “forward pass” and the “return pass” are effectively worked in the same direction. The forward pass stitches are picked up in the usual way with Tunisian crochet, then the work is turned to enable the “return pass” to be worked with the other end of the double ended hook. The main photograph illustrates the square made with Stylecraft Batik for the main colour and Stylecraft Batik Elements, a variegated yarn, for the contrast colour. It is a double knitting weight yarn, worked with a 5.00mm double ended crochet hook. Please note you can use any weight of yarn with the appropriately sized hook for this pattern, but the tension/gauge and measurements will differ. Knowledge of Tunisian crochet at an intermediate skill level is required. Some regular crochet is used for the foundation round and finishing round, which are explained in UK and US crochet terms.
Crochet: Tunisian crochet patterns
Instantly downloadable Tunisian crochet pattern. Jovi’s jumper pattern is written in five sizes (with an explanation for a smaller and two larger sizes than described in pattern). The main part of jumper is made in one piece, one square at a time, entrelac style. Starting at the “tail end” of back and working towards the neck, then from front neck towards the stomach area, joining side seams on completion. The two larger sizes may require buttonhole bands at the sides to enable easier fitting for dogs with a longer leg length. (This is also explained). The photographs illustrate jumper made using Robin Aran with wool and a 6.00mm Tunisian crochet hook. The collar is worked with regular crochet front and back post stitches. The regular crochet instructions are written in UK terms. Sizes to fit chest size 20 inches/68cm to 34 inches/86cm. With two back lengths for each size. Stitch explanations are included in the abbreviations section of the pattern. Other sizes may be available soon.
